DL Chemicals invests 30 million euros in Belgian manufacturing industry

DL Chemicals, a leading Belgian producer of sealants and adhesives, mainly under the brands Parasilico and Parabond, is confirming its belief in the local manufacturing industry with the opening of two major infrastructure projects: the brand-new, fully automated production site DLC3 in Wielsbeke and a completely new office building on the production site in Waregem. These strategic investments strengthen the company’s anchoring in Belgium and underline its long-term vision of sustainable growth, innovation and employment.

The opening of DLC3 represents an investment of over 30 million euros and marks the next step in the expansion of production capacity on home soil. "We believe in the power of Belgian quality, know-how and reliability," says DL Chemicals. With DLC3, we are taking an important step forward in the further optimization and expansion of our production capacity. This new site will exclusively produce silicone sealants. The emphasis here is on the production of large volumes.

Smart, sustainable and future-proof

DLC3 has been designed entirely according to the strictest safety and environmental standards. The fully automated production ensures precise processing, consistent quality and a significant reduction of waste and intermediate packaging, thanks to the use of bulk raw materials in silos and tanks. Furthermore, the entire production process takes place in a closed circuit, so that the products only come into contact with air at the moment of packaging – a guarantee of top quality and hygiene.

High capacity, maximum flexibility

Mixing, dosing and filling are fully automated. Intelligent processes allow for quick switching between different products or specific customer requests – essential for our flexibility, the cleaning process can be kept to a minimum and production planning can be made extra efficient.

The innovative and highly advanced production line currently increases DL Chemicals’ total production capacity by approximately 50%. Furthermore, there are possibilities to double the capacity of DLC3 in Wielsbeke in the future. All this with remarkable efficiency thanks to extensive automation. This proves that local production can be perfectly scalable and competitive, provided the right investments are made.

DL Chemicals sealants and adhesives are distributed in more than 50 countries, mainly under the well-known professional brands Parasilico and Parabond and Rexon for the DIY market.

A sustainable investment in the future

With air purification areas, a NO2 installation to prevent curing during production interruptions, and provisions for future water-based supply of raw materials, DLC3 proves itself as a future-oriented site. Both the building and the processes are designed to perform over the long term and to continue to grow with the needs of our customers.

“At DL Chemicals, we believe in continuous improvement, sustainable innovation and long-term partnerships. By producing in Belgium, we maintain control over quality, service and speed. DLC3 is the perfect example of this. This investment enables us to serve our customers faster, more efficiently and more flexibly than ever before,” says the DL Chemicals management team.

New offices in Waregem: modern working environment

Not only did Wielsbeke see investment. The existing production site in Waregem also received a solid infrastructure update. The old offices made way for a modern, energy-efficient four-storey office building. In April, the employees who are closely involved in production moved into the building, which is equipped with modern comfort and optimum work facilities. This investment underlines our commitment to the well-being of our employees and our belief in the power of locally anchored entrepreneurship.

With these investments we continue to build on our mission: excellence in sealing and bonding, today and tomorrow.

Next year, DL Chemicals will also proudly celebrate its 90th anniversary – a milestone in continuity, which testifies to sustainable growth, customer focus and trust across generations.
